Altruist Care, LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, and responsible Direct Care Providers/Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in providing quality residential care and support to individuals with developmental, intellectual, physical, and/or behavioral challenges. JOB DESCRIPTION

The Direct Care Provider is responsible for providing hands-on care, supervision, support, and assistance to individuals residing in an APD-supported group home. The Direct Care Provider will help ensure that residents receive services in a safe, respectful, comfortable, and supportive home environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Provide direct care and daily living assistance based on each individual's needs and service plan. Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, and other activities of daily living as needed. Prepare and assist with meals while following dietary requirements and preferences. Administer or assist with medications as permitted and after completing required training and authorization. Provide supervision and maintain the safety and well-being of residents at all times. Support individuals with community activities, appointments, shopping, recreation, and other activities that promote independence and quality of life. Encourage residents to develop and maintain appropriate life skills and independence. Follow individual support plans, behavioral support plans, and agency policies and procedures. Accurately document services provided, activities, incidents, observations, and other required information. Complete required APD documentation and electronic service notes in a timely and accurate manner. Communicate changes in an individual's condition, behavior, needs, or circumstances to the appropriate supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and comfortable residential environment. Assist with household responsibilities, including meal preparation, laundry, cleaning, and maintaining common areas. Respect each individual's rights, privacy, dignity, choices, and personal preferences. Recognize and report suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other safety concerns in accordance with applicable requirements. Attend required staff meetings, training, and continuing education. Perform other duties related to the care and support of residents as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities is preferred but not required. Previous group home, home care, caregiving, behavioral health, or direct support experience is a plus. Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and compassionate. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals, families, coworkers, supervisors, and other professionals. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to complete required APD and agency training. Must successfully complete required background screening and employment requirements. Must be willing to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays when scheduled. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for certain positions.

Employees may be required to complete applicable APD and agency-required training and maintain compliance with all required certifications and documentation, which may include: Zero Tolerance training HIPAA training Direct Care/Direct Support training Medication training and validation, when applicable First Aid/CPR
