Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this energetic role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting seniors, individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities, or those in long-term care settings, your positive attitude and proactive approach will help create a nurturing environment. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to develop rewarding relationships while gaining valuable experience in caregiving and healthcare support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with team members about resident status Follow safety procedures including first aid, CPR certification protocols, and safe patient lifting practices to ensure everyone's safety Drive residents when necessary using standard passenger cars for appointments or community outings Requirements Prior experience assisting with ADLs, assisted living or nursing home experience preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and behavior management techniques Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments Valid CPR and First Aid certification; ongoing training encouraged Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using appropriate equipment Experience working in residential care homes or home & community care environments is highly desirable Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members effectively Valid driver's license for safe driving duties; clean driving record preferred Compassionate attitude with a passion for caregiving and supporting others' independence Join us in creating a positive impact through caring support!
