Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home health environments. In this vital role, you will assist clients with daily activities, monitor their health and well-being, and promote independence while ensuring their safety and comfort. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help improve the quality of life for those you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods and manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs, observe for changes in health status, and report findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by medical teams. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful environment that upholds residents' rights. Assist with transportation needs including escorting clients to appointments or community activities using personal transportation assistance when necessary. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift operation or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfer methods; experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is beneficial. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
