Job Description
Overview Join the SagePoint Care Agency team as a Direct Support Professional (Companion Services) and make a meaningful difference in the life of an adult with developmental disabilities. In this rewarding role, you will provide one-on-one companionship and person-centered support while encouraging community participation, independence, and meaningful social experiences. As a Companion DSP, you will accompany the consumer on recreational outings and community activities in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, patient, and committed to helping individuals build confidence, develop relationships, and enjoy enriching experiences within their community. At SagePoint Care Agency, we believe companion care is about creating meaningful moments that promote independence, dignity, and an improved quality of life. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one companion services in community settings. Encourage independence while offering appropriate supervision and support. Accompany the consumer to recreational activities, parks, libraries, restaurants, shopping centers, and other community outings based on their individualized goals and interests. Foster meaningful conversation, social interaction, and community inclusion. Ensure the consumer's safety and well-being throughout each outing. Assist with transportation using your personal vehicle. Complete required service documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and person-centered practices at all times. Communicate effectively with the agency regarding scheduling, documentation, and any concerns. Qualifications Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Valid Florida driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current automobile insurance. Comfortable transporting and accompanying consumers within the community. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently while following individualized support plans. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain according to agency requirements). Must successfully pass a Florida Level 2 Background Screening before providing services. Why Join SagePoint Care Agency?
