In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. We are seeking a dependable, caring Direct Support Professional to provide support for two consumers in a group home. This live-in position requires staff to remain in the home during assigned care hours, including overnight, and assist both consumers with their daily needs.
Schedule Monday-Thursday:
Live-in coverage. 8:30 a.m.: Assist both consumers with their morning routines and ensure they safely board the bus. 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.: Staff have free time while both consumers are away. 3:30 p.m.: Be present to meet the bus and assist both consumers as they return home.
Afternoon through the next morning:
Remain in the home to provide care, supervision, evening support, and assistance with overnight needs. Responsibilities Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and other personal care needs. Prepare meals and assist with eating and kitchen cleanup as needed. Provide reminders, encouragement, and assistance with daily living activities. Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe home environment. Respect each consumer's choices, privacy, dignity, and independence. Respond to overnight needs and emergencies during assigned coverage. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, client progress, and incident reports in compliance with organizational policies. Requirements Must have reliable transportation. Must have current First Aid and CPR certifications. Must have MATH certification. Must complete required TRAIN Florida training. Agency staff will set up training for new hires. Must be reliable, patient, respectful, and able to work independently. Must be comfortable providing personal care and overnight support for two consumers. Must have strong communication and documentation skills. Previous DSP, caregiving, or group home experience preferred. Must complete level two required background screening and agency training.
