Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and personalized assistance to promote independence, dignity, and well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while positively impacting lives every day. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Support resident with mobility and transfers using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive atmosphere that respects residents' rights and individuality. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients closely, monitor vital signs, and recognize signs of distress or medical emergencies. Knowledge of supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities is advantageous. Familiarity with care plans, patient personal care assistance, and HIPAA compliance is essential. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to caregiving or specialized support are a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality and respecting resident's rights.
