In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether supporting residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or community settings, your energy and commitment will help create a nurturing environment where clients thrive. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, administering medication according to care plans, and reporting any changes or concerns promptly. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met while encouraging independence. Utilize proper patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to safely move individuals with mobility challenges. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including patient observations, medication administration records, and incident reports in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide emotional support and companionship to foster positive relationships and enhance residents' quality of life. Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safe and reliable client mobility. Qualifications Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or intellectual disabilities is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts; familiarity with patient transfer methods is required. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members. Certification in CPR and first aid is required Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
