Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Part-Time DSP to join our youth program! In this role, you will provide support in group and individual settings at our center in Coeur d'Alene, and in the community. Client support is geared towards developing and maintaining skills and abilities to maximize potential for leading a self-directed life and integration within the community to the degree desired. Youth DSP's follow individual client program plans under the direction of the Youth Program Supervisor to facilitate growth toward independence as well as responsible for related plan assessment, documentation, and paperwork. Responsibilities Youth DSPs work with children and youth with disabilities assisting them with daily living activities, personal development, and community integration. Encourage and facilitate the participation of individuals in social, recreational, vocational activities, both within the program and in the broader community. Promote and teach essential life skills, including communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and self-advocacy, to enhance independence and empower individuals as defined by each client's prescribed plan. Comply with the staff duty schedule to ensure participants are safe during all transitions (arrival/departure for the day, morning and afternoon breaks, lunchtime, and between classes). Assist participants as needed with individual life skills during the day, this may include assistance with changing clothes, cleaning up after an accident, etc.). Provide person-centered approaches, positive behavior support, and principles of dignity and respect during modeling. DSP staff will be accountable for the progress and development of the clients. Observe and document individual progress, behaviors, and any incidents or changes in health or behavior, adhering to all confidentiality and reporting requirements. Gather information for Youth Program Supervisor that will help with the assessment process. Ensures documentation is accurate, compliant, and timely for services rendered. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that respects and values diversity. Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and regulations, including health and safety guidelines. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or GED. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Certification in CPR and First Aid required to maintain employment in this position. Current driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a motor vehicle screening. Ability to pass a criminal history check with fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening.

Position:

Part-time, 6-20 hours per week in our afterschool program.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
