Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for signs of distress or changes in condition. Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans established by healthcare professionals. Facilitate meal preparation and assist with eating to ensure proper nutrition. Use patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and incident reports in compliance with healthcare standards. Engage in cleaning duties to uphold a safe, sanitary environment; assist with household chores as needed. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere. Support residents during outings or community activities using personal transportation assistance when necessary. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, care plans, medication administration, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform patient transfers using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely; experience with manual handling is a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications related to healthcare or caregiving are beneficial. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity; patience and empathy are essential qualities.
