Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following HIPAA regulations and care plans established by healthcare providers. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for clients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings using appropriate safety procedures. Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents clearly and thoroughly in compliance with privacy standards such as HIPAA. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to observe patients carefully and respond appropriately to their needs. Knowledge of care techniques including patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and patient monitoring tools such as vital signs measurement devices. Experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or hospice support is advantageous. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or manual handling are a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams while respecting residents' rights. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers.
