Job Description
Direct Support Professional (DSP) -
Residential Starting Hourly Wage:

Caring and compassionate individuals are needed to work with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. All residential group homes are located in DeKalb, Genoa and Sycamore, IL. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) at Opportunity House are invaluable to our mission to help people with developmental disabilities work, live in homes of their choice, and enjoy community life. DSP duties include but are not limited to:- Teaching and supporting daily living skills; meal preparation, housekeeping, money management, etc.
- Assisting with cooking and cleaning; maintain a safe and healthy home environment that encourages learning.
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene of clients.
- Supervising in-home and out-of-home activities; including client transportation, which may include driving company cars, vans, and buses.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 year or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Illinois driver's license and auto insurance.
- Must be able to pass required background checks. Benefits include the following based on eligibility:
