Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The DSP will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. This position requires a strong commitment to caregiving, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and their families. Duties Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration. Assist clients with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs. Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Support clients in participating in social activities and community engagement. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing. Assist with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety. Foster positive relationships with clients while promoting independence and self-esteem. Experience Previous experience in caregiving or home health is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus. Experience working in a group home or similar setting is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential.
