Days, Evenings, and Midnights Make a Difference When It Matters Most VNA Hospice NWI is seeking compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our team at our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center. This role provides the opportunity to deliver hands-on care and comfort to patients with life-limiting illnesses while supporting families during an important stage of life. We are currently hiring for full-time and part-time positions on day, evening, and midnight shifts . Position Summary The CNA/HHA provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The ideal candidate is compassionate, patient-centered, and committed to delivering exceptional end-of-life care in a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide personal care while promoting patient dignity and comfort. Assist with ambulation, transfers, and repositioning. Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Assist with meal setup and feeding as needed. Document care provided according to agency policies and procedures. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to ensure excellent patient care.Requirements:
Qualifications CNA Candidates:
Current Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous hospice, long-term care, hospital, or home care experience preferred.HHA Candidates:
Completion of a State-approved Home Health Aide training program and certification. Previous healthcare, hospice, or caregiving experience preferred.For All Candidates:
Compassionate and caring attitude toward patients and families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity.
