Job Description

HOMECARE AIDE JOB DESCRIPTION
As an employee of the Big Sandy Area Development District, Homecare Aides are governed by all policies and entitled to all benefits as outlined in the BSADD policy manual. Homecare Aides are given a policy manual upon orientation and are accountable for the information within it.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
To perform the direct services as outlined on each client's care plan such as home management, personal care assistance, chore, respite, escort and supportive assistance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To plan, with the Homecare Aide Supervisor, the Case Manager and client, how best to provide the services and functions as outlined on the care plan
  • To organize services within the care plan;
  • To report important changes observed in the client to the Case Manager;
  • To involve the client whenever possible and feasible in the provision of services;
  • To take measures to maintain and improve the safety of the client in the home;
  • To assist with personal care with respect for the privacy and dignity of the client;
  • To encourage the client and allow the client to be independent in the performance of services;
  • To demonstrate techniques which will increase independence and relieve stress to the client.
Hiring for 1 position in Johnson Co, Floyd Co, and Magoffin Co. Prefer someone more central to these counties, but will interview all qualified. Must have reliable transportation to be able to go to clients' homes. Job is Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with a 30-minute lunch. 1 yr experience with caring for the elderly and/or disabled preferred but not required.
