Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will support residents in their daily activities, promote independence, and foster a positive environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, ensuring they receive respectful, personalized care in a safe and nurturing setting. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in caregiving and support services. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition needs while maintaining cleanliness in dining areas Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and utilize proper manual handling techniques for safe patient transfers Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and social engagement Support residents with neurodevelopmental disorders, dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care needs through specialized activities and monitoring Maintain a clean environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and common spaces Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, patient observation, and emergency response procedures Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is advantageous Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is beneficial Familiarity with care plans, medication management, HIPAA compliance, and patient personal care assistance is essential Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids is a plus Background in geriatrics or senior care enhances your ability to support aging populations effectively Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications related to hospice care or social work are a plus Join us as a Direct Support Professional to empower individuals through compassionate caregiving.
