We're seeking dependable, nature-loving Direct Support Professionals to join our team at a working farm program in Hatfield, MA. This is an outdoor, hands-on role — you'll spend your entire shift outside alongside adult clients, working with plants, animals, and the land. How You'll Contribute A Direct Support Professional empowers individuals with disabilities or special needs to live as independently and meaningfully as possible. In this unique farm-based role, you'll work side by side with adult clients as they tend to farm animals and plants — supporting their independence, building their confidence, and helping them take pride in meaningful, purposeful work. What You'll Do Work alongside adult clients outdoors for the full shift, assisting them with farm-based job tasks involving plants and animals Support and supervise clients in the care of farm animals, including chickens, geese, goats, and a small horse Assist clients with horticultural and farm work activities throughout the shift Implement behavioral support strategies in a calm, consistent manner — clients may exhibit some behaviors but are not violent Assist with personal hygiene and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) on an as-needed basis Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment throughout the day Complete documentation accurately, including daily notes and progress records Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members Follow all program policies, safety protocols, and individualized support plans Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 6 months of experience in direct care or human services, or in a comparable role such as CNA, HHA, PCA, Residential Counselor, or Caregiver preferred Comfort working outdoors for an entire shift in all weather conditions — this is a fully outdoor program Comfort working around farm animals, including chickens, geese, goats, and a small horse Willingness to assist adults with personal hygiene and ADLs as needed Ability to work calmly and consistently with individuals who may exhibit behavioral challenges Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred Reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
