The HHA will assist clients with activities of daily living while promoting safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life. Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and other mobility needs.
• Assist with eating and meal preparation as directed by the client?s care plan.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks related to the client\'s care.
• Observe and report changes in the client\'s condition to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow the individualized care plan and instructions provided by the supervising professional.
• Maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
• Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Provide care in accordance with applicable Massachusetts and agency requirements. Qualifications
• Completion of an approved Home Health Aide training program and competency requirements, as applicable to the position.
• Current HHA certificate/documentation of required training preferred.
• CNA certification may be accepted where applicable.
• Previous home care, healthcare, or caregiving experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.
• Ability to work independently while following a care plan and supervisory instructions.
• Ability to safely perform required physical duties, including assisting with transfers and mobility.
• Reliable transportation may be required depending on the service area. Massachusetts-Specific Requirements
• Candidates must meet applicable Massachusetts and federal HHA training and competency requirements for the type of services being provided.
• For MassHealth-covered home health aide services, HHA services are provided according to the client\'s plan of care and under the applicable supervision requirements.
• Candidates who do not yet have the required training may be eligible for Massachusetts\' state-supported Personal and Home Care Aide State Training (PHCAST), depending on the position and employer requirements.
