Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Operate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and prevent injury. Maintain a clean and organized environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring client safety during travel. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer's and memory care. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, and recognizing signs of distress or emergencies. Proficiency in using care equipment like Hoyer lifts, bed rails, and other mobility aids safely and effectively. Ability to follow detailed care plans, administer medications accurately, and document care activities thoroughly. Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients respectfully and collaborating with healthcare teams while maintaining resident's rights. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure confidentiality of all patient information. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required and demonstrate manual handling expertise for patient transfers.
