JOB OVERVIEW

As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential day-to-day assistance to individuals receiving residential and community-based support services. DSPs play an important role in promoting independence, safety, dignity, community participation, and overall quality of life. Work environments may include residential settings, assisted living environments, memory care settings, in-home care, and community-based programs.

EMPLOYMENT STRUCTURE

This opportunity begins as a 90-day contract position with SDVO under 1099 status . Successful candidates may transition to a full-time W-2 position directly with the client following the 90-day contract period , subject to satisfactory performance, client needs, and continued eligibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Support Professionals may be responsible for: Assisting individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation Providing medication reminders and other authorized support within the scope of the position Providing compassionate emotional support and companionship Monitoring individuals' health, safety, and overall well-being Promptly reporting changes in physical, behavioral, or emotional condition according to established procedures Maintaining accurate care and service documentation Supporting recreational, educational, and community-based activities Encouraging independence and community participation Maintaining a safe, respectful, clean, and supportive living environment Following individual support plans, organizational policies, and client requirements Providing transportation and community support when required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the following requirements: High school diploma or GED Valid U.S. driver's license Verifiable 3-year U.S. driving record is required Ability to safely transport individuals when required Dependable transportation to and from assigned work locations Ability to communicate effectively and professionally Ability to complete required documentation accurately and on time Ability to meet applicable background screening requirements Previous experience in direct support, developmental disability services, residential care, senior care, assisted living, memory care, home care, or a related field is preferred.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT A

valid driver's license and verifiable 3-year U.S. driving record are mandatory for this position. Applicants who cannot provide the required driving history will not be eligible for these current DSP assignments.
