Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) - where your compassionate care and proactive approach will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care needs, or other long-term care requirements. This vital role ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents during overnight hours, providing a stable and supportive environment that promotes independence and dignity. Responsibilities Monitor residents throughout the overnight shift to ensure safety, comfort, and adherence to care plans Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and toileting Observe and document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Respond promptly to resident needs or emergencies using first aid skills and proper protocols Support residents with dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning common areas and resident rooms Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers while ensuring resident comfort and safety Prepare nutritious meals or snacks aligned with dietary guidelines for residents in accordance with care plans Communicate effectively with team members, family members, and healthcare providers to coordinate care Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or personal care homes is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of senior care practices including Alzheimer's care, dementia support, and memory care techniques Experience administering medications and monitoring vital signs within a healthcare or caregiving setting Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record keeping is preferred Background in home & community care or group home environments adds valuable insight into personalized support strategies Hands-on caregiving experience involving assisting with ADLs, mobility support, or behavioral management is advantageous Valid driver's license for driving residents or transportation duties is a plus Join us in providing compassionate overnight support that empowers individuals to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.
