Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Administer medication following prescribed protocols and document all medication-related activities accurately Support residents with memory care needs such as Alzheimer's and dementia by implementing personalized care plans and behavioral management strategies Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and positioning Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to ensure residents' health status is maintained and report any concerns promptly Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and proper nutrition Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, geriatrics, and behavior management techniques Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid is required or obtainable upon hire Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for community outings or appointments if necessary Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while supporting residents' mobility needs Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within a caregiving environment Commitment to respecting residents' rights and promoting dignity in all aspects of care Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication directly enhances the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
