Personal Support Specialist (PSS) / Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

As a PSS, you will provide essential support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene Provide mobility assistance, including transfers and ambulation Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary Perform light housekeeping related to client care Monitor and report changes in client condition Maintain a safe and clean environment Follow individualized care plans Provide companionship and emotional support Document services provided daily Responsibilities Perform tasks assigned by the Supervisor Report any changes in client condition immediately Follow infection control and universal precautions Maintain client confidentiality according to HIPAA Follow agency policies and procedures Attend required training and in-service education Submit documentation accurately and on time Follow emergency procedures when necessary Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred PSS Certificate preferred or willingness to obtain within 9 months Ability to communicate effectively in English Reliable transportation Valid driver's license Ability to pass background check Ability to travel to client homes CPR certification preferred Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor Job Conditions Variable hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays Work performed in client homes Physical activity including lifting, bending, and assisting clients Exposure to various client environments Ability to adapt to changing client needs Equipment Used Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves and masks Wheelchairs and walkers Blood pressure monitors Oxygen equipment Mobility and safety devices Training will be provided.
