Job Description
We are looking for a personal care assistant to support our 9 year old son with developmental delays in our home. He's a sweet and happy boy and can always find a way to put a smile on your face! We're looking for someone that is interested in helping him with his therapy exercises and doing enrichment activities in our home and in the community while we're running errands or working. This means a fair amount of lifting, carrying, and transferring as well as providing physical support and assistance. We expect you to be polite, reliable, and a good communicator. Experience working with children and specifically those with special needs is ideal. This position will specifically be looking for someone that can work either Saturday and/or Sunday with the option of adding non-school days as availability allows. Total weekly hours to be anywhere from 8 to 16 hours. Shift start and end times negotiable and flexible. Responsibilities Help client dress, bathe, feedings, etc. Assist client with therapy exercises Prepare and administer G-tube feedings Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment Provide emotional support Transport client to/from community activities as needed Skills Proven experience as a personal care assistant Committed to health & safety Well-organized and reliable Excellent communication and people skills Positive and compassionate attitude Strong ethics Physical stamina High school diploma or equivalent A valid driver's license
