Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate individual to join our team as a Day/Float shift Direct Support Professional. As an Day/Float shift Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities in their daily lives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, patience, and have strong observational skills. This role is crucial in creating a positive and supportive environment for all residents as they maintain day to day activities. These individuals are asked to assist with activities of daily living, appointments, outings, and to aid in creating a positive and supportive environment for all residents as they wind down for the night and foster a peaceful and secure overnight experience for all involved. Shifts would be Tuesday-Thursday 8a-5p and alternating weekends 4p-10p. Every Monday and Friday off. Approximately 66 hours a pay period.

Duties:

• Assist individuals with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
• Monitoring evening routines
• Implement individualized care plans and behavioral support plans
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
• Foster independence and community integration for individuals
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided

Skills:

• Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy
• Experience working with people with disabilities
• Ability to provide patient care with empathy and compassion
• Strong caregiving skills with a focus on individualized care
