In Person Position Overview Madison County Council for the Developmentally Disabled (MCCDD) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, community inclusion, and an enhanced quality of life while assisting individuals with daily living activities and personal goals.
Schedule We have opportunities for:
Full-Time Part-Time PRN (As Needed) Available shifts include: Evenings Overnights Rotating weekends (day or night shifts) Essential Responsibilities Follow each individual's Individualized Support Plan (ISP), supervision level, and health guidelines. Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, and laundry. Administer medications after successful completion of Medication Administration training and document services accurately. Monitor health and safety while maintaining awareness of each individual's location and well-being. Provide transportation to appointments, shopping, work, recreational activities, and community outings. Encourage independence, choice, self-advocacy, and meaningful community participation. Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful home environment. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, and healthcare professionals. Complete required documentation and training in a timely manner. Represent MCCDD professionally and uphold the rights and dignity of every individual served. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation. Successfully pass all required background screenings. Ability to complete Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, and other required training. Ability to lift, bend, stand, and assist individuals with mobility and personal care as needed.
