Direct Support Professional You Will:
Work Monday
  • Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm in a day shift position.
No weekends, or holidays. Teach individualized socialization and living skills to individuals having developmental disabilities through a culture of gentleness and respect. Develop and implement daily programs for each individual assigned in a team or 1:1 setting in regards to program goals, independent living skills, self-help skills, life skills, self-advocacy in learning preferences/choices/communication skills, and community integration skills as well as other goals as indicated in the individual's annual plan. Implement training goals for program participants. Support program participants with personal care needs such as toileting, assistance with lunch, ROM, sensory needs, using Hoyer lifts, etc. Complete all documentation/charting by using the computer system. If you have experience with Therap, that's a plus! Implement community volunteer site activities and on site program activities.
Requirements Applicants must:
Have a valid state driver's license and current vehicle insurance indicating a safe driving record. Have a reliable, working vehicle (company reimburses for personal vehicle use should transportation of individuals be requested). Be available to work weekdays Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Be able to attend staff meetings that may be conducted after program hours. Complete required DMH training including new hire and annual online assigned training. Maintain current certifications through Annual Recertification, I/DD specific training, and other required training. Minimum Qualifications A valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle. One year of relatable experience. High School Diploma or equivalent. A stable work history. It is not required, but if you are a CNA, that's a plus! About Us Developing Potential, Inc. is a nationally accredited CARF Day Habilitation program that began providing support services to adults with developmental disabilities in Jackson County in 1993. DPI's program focuses on building strengths, fostering independence, changing lives, and developing potential. This mission drives DPI's program services and the commitment DPI has to helping individuals achieve an adult, dignified lifestyle. Today, DPI continues to grow and the program continues to evolve to meet the needs of families throughout Jackson County.
