We are seeking candidates who are interested in gaining the clinical skills training needed to become a successful Care Assistant (similar to a CNA ) on one of our inpatient medical/surgical units or Emergency Departments. Candidates must be available M-F during the day for the training and then transition to working 12 hour night shifts ( 7p-7a) after the training. Overview Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of RN, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager or Resource Manager assigned to supervise the Care Assistant and in accordance with this job description. Those in the Introductory Care Assistant position are employed by Children's Mercy while they complete a certified nursing assistant ( CNA ) program.
