Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health and safety. Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration. Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injuries. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Support residents' emotional well-being through social engagement, companionship, and encouraging participation in activities. Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety at all times. Requirements Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Certification or training in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing education in dementia care or behavior management is a plus. Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide compassionate personal care to diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of EMR systems for documentation purposes is desirable. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail. Valid driver's license preferred for roles involving transportation responsibilities. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
