Job Description

Surry-Yadkin Residential Services is a small, non-profit organization located in Mount Airy, NC. We offer two group homes that support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as a day program/gift shop. We provide services to a total of 12 clients. Our organization offers excellent health, dental and vision insurance at a low cost of $45.00 every two weeks for full time staff. We also offer a free gym membership and free life insurance! We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with disabilities in a group home environment and day program. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Duties:
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
  • Assist with meal preparations
  • Support individuals in participating in social and recreational activities
  • Help individuals develop and maintain independent living skills
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED, Clean criminal record, ability to pass a drug test
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
