Job Description
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as needed.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a sense of community and social interaction.
- Support children with intellectual disabilities.
- Assist with vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature checks, as required.
- Help residents with ADLs, including meal preparation, medication administration and personal care.
- Drive residents to appointments or outings, as needed.
- Perform first aid as necessary.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure that all resident needs are met.
- Document resident care and progress, as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to provide direct care and support to residents.
- Knowledge of vital signs and first aid is required.
- Ability to lift and transfer residents as needed.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, if applicable.
- Compassionate and patient attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred.
