Hours are Monday through Friday with a typical workday being 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The Employment Support Professional will provide services to adults with disabilities along with their families by carrying out the Mission, Vision and Values of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND). This position also provides direct care to individuals in the day support/vocational program and the candidate must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
Interest in and/or experience in supporting people with disabilities to achieve their goals and outcomes. Ability to work both as a team and alone, to complete tasks as instructed, be receptive to new ideas and be creative in helping to solve problems. Believe that everyone can and must have an opportunity to learn and grown, regardless of their disability. High school or equivalent diploma preferred. Ability to meet and maintain background investigation requirements, and commitment to providing a drug-free, non-violent place for consumers to live and our employees to work. A valid driver license and insurance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist and support people to realize their goals and attain personal outcomes. Assist and support people to develop and/or maintain a social support network. Assist and support people to maintain or re-establish their family connections. Assist and support people to maintain their home, their health, and their well-being. Assist and support people to utilize their community and its resources. Assist and support people to direct their services and make informed choices in all aspect of their life. Assist and support people to maintain and excel in employment of the person's choice. Assist and support people to have a safe environment in which to live and work, free of abuse, neglect or exploitation. To be an advocate for people with disabilities and to teach members of the community to treat people we support with dignity and respect by modeling positive attitudes and respectful communication and interactions.
