This position serves as the primary shift leader, ensuring quality care, person-centered services, and compliance with company policies and state regulations. The Residential Lead assists with training, scheduling, documentation, communication, and problem-solving while promoting a positive team culture and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive home environment. This canidate should be compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Direct Support Professional. You will be providing essential support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other related needs in various settings, including group homes and assisted living facilities. Your primary goal will be to enhance the quality of life for those you support by promoting independence, dignity, and community integration. Responsibilities Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Implement individualized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each person served. Facilitate communication between individuals and their families or guardians to ensure effective support. Monitor and document progress towards goals, reporting any changes in behavior or health status. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of individuals during transfers or mobility assistance. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care. Provide leadership and support to Direct Support Professionals during assigned shifts. Serve as the point of contact when the Residential Manager is unavailable. Lead by example while providing direct care and support to individuals served. Help train staff on company policies, documentation, and person-centered support. Ensure all medications, MARs, and required paperwork are completed correctly. Assist the Residential Manager with staff scheduling and shift coverage. Communicate staffing concerns, behavioral concerns, and home needs promptly to the Residential Manager. Ensure individuals' care plans, behavior supports, and medical needs are followed. Assist with appointments, transportation, and community activities as needed. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe home environment. Complete weekly home inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns. Assist with inventory of household supplies and submit supply requests. Model professional communication and conflict resolution with staff and families. Encourage teamwork and maintain positive staff morale. Assist with monthly audits, fire/tornado drills, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance. Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned. Fill open shifts when necessary to maintain quality care. Attend leadership meetings, trainings, and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of home community care practices and group home environments is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for assisting individuals with mobility needs. Proficient in meal preparation and understanding dietary restrictions for individuals in care.
