Job Description

Respite Care Services- Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Qualification:
Mercy Drive Regional (MDR) in contract with New Jersey Department of Children and Families provides Respite care services to child/youth with Intellectual/ Developmental disabilities to provide relief for the primary caregiver. Respite care DSP staff provides care and supervision to child/youth in their own home or outside their primary residence. Respite care service will offer families the opportunity for a break from caregiving responsibilities and provides a positive experience for the child/youth receiving care. Respite care DSP staff services allows child/youth's parents time to engage in activities that they find relaxing, entertaining, or restful while respite care DSP staff cares for child/youth. DSP staff must be responsible for the safety and welfare of the youth served. DSP must comply with fingerprint process and attend and participate in all required training. Pass Tuberculin Skin (TB) test i.e medical clearance to provide services.
