Job Description

Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. The DSP provides one-to-one, person-centered support to individuals receiving services through the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities Waiver. They assist participants in developing skills, complete Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), engage in meaningful community activities, help increase independence and work towards their Individual Service Plan (ISP) outcomes while ensuring their safety and rights are protected.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide person-centered support in home and community settings. Assist with ADLs, errands, money management, and transportation. Facilitate community participation (volunteering, recreation, classes, social activities). Implement ISP goals, behavior plans, therapy plans, and health plans. Support use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology. Monitor and report changes in health, behavior, or needs. Ensure safety, rights protection, and abuse/neglect prevention. Complete accurate daily notes, health tracking, GERs, and MAR documentation. Work collaboratively with supervisors, nurses, therapists, case managers, and guardians. Attend required trainings and follow all agency policies.
