Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, home health, or long-term care, with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for those in need. Prior experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory care is highly valued. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, cooking and mobility support Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and overall condition; report changes to healthcare professionals Administer medication and follow care plans as prescribed by medical providers Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols Document patient observations accurately while respecting HIPAA regulations Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other developmental disabilities Follow safety procedures during patient handling, including heavy lifting and use of assistive devices Participate in ongoing training related to patient care, CPR, first aid, and other relevant certifications Requirements Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or group homes is preferred Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, and care planning processes Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain necessary certifications upon hire Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism and compassion Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare providers Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and assisting with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care is advantageous Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; reliable transportation is preferred for home visits This role provides an essential service that enhances the well-being of individuals requiring personal assistance.
