Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Blauvelt, NY 10913 . The DSP will assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and skill development while promoting independence and personal choice. This position may involve working with children, adults, or older adults in either a group or 1-on-1 setting.

Position Details:

Group setting with approximately 8-10 consumers or 1-on-1 support Experience working with individuals with mental, behavioral, and/or physical disabilities High school diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year of DSP experience required Fingerprint background check required

Responsibilities:

Assist with daily living activities and skill development. Provide help with hygiene, grooming, feeding, and other personal care needs. Encourage independence and participation in daily routines. Guide individuals in communicating their needs, preferences, and choices. Advocate for their rights, dignity, and well-being. Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Follow established care plans, safety procedures, and site requirements. Communicate relevant updates with supervisors and other members of the care team.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of DSP experience . High school diploma or GED . Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, reliable, and comfortable working with diverse populations. Ability to work effectively in both group and 1-on-1 environments. Willingness to complete a fingerprint background check . Ability to commute to Blauvelt, NY 10913 . Ability to perform essential job functions, including standing, bending, reaching, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
