Our client is a 28-year-old male who has Cerebral palsy and uses a motorized wheelchair for mobility. He lives in his own apartment in Oneonta and is seeking personal care assistance. A successful applicant will need to apply to Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) or PPL, through which hourly wages will come. Pay rate is $20

• 23, depending on experience. The hours are Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-1:30pm. You will need to provide full assistance with all ADLs (transfers, showers, etc.); provide support when the client is out in the community; assist client with some computer-related tasks. It is a plus if you:
• Have experience caring for someone with cerebral palsy and/or providing care to young adults.
• Feel comfortable driving a client in your vehicle.
• Enjoy baking/cooking.
• Are person-centered, focused, and appreciate some variety within the day.

Qualifications:

Valid NYS driver's license and reliable vehicle. High School Diploma or GED may be required. Smartphone and/or tablet for electronic record keeping. Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgement, and complete necessary documentation.
