Job Description

Empowering People, Inc (EPI) is looking for compassionate and caring individuals to work with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Come work in a comfortable home setting helping people live life in the most independent way possible and strive daily to truly make a difference in their lives !!
Shift needed:
Full time Mon-Friday (2p-9p) and every other weekend (9a-9p) 3 days one week and 4 the next week Schedule posted every month. Part time 20-25 hours/week, may vary every other weekend. Direct Support Professional Job Description Direct support professionals (DSPs) are people who work directly with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in their homes and in their community, The DSP is responsible to provide direct services including, but not limited to: personal care services, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance, maintaining a clean, safe living environment, meal preparation and completion of various household tasks. A DSP may provide transportation and supports to a Individual at home, work, school, church, and other community places. A DSP is also an advocate, helping people in communicating needs, self-expression, and goals as well as assuring justice and equality in community life. In all things the goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment in their lives. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age with a HS Diploma or GED Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record with less than 6 points and be willing to transport individuals into their community Must be Medication Administration Certified, or be willing to be trained, in order to assist with medications and for the completion of other health related tasks Preference will be given to those with DSP/STNA/Caregiving experience, although no licensing is required Must be proficient in speaking, reading, understanding and writing the English language.
