Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, engaging environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring cleanliness and safety in the kitchen area Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in resident rooms, common areas, and activity spaces Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote mental stimulation and socialization Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer's disease), or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes Knowledge of first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures to ensure safety at all times Strong patient observation skills to monitor changes in behavior or health status effectively Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Familiarity with medication administration protocols and maintaining detailed care plans Experience with home & community care environments, home health services, hospice care or long-term care settings is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your compassionate care can transform lives!
