Schedule's can be made to cover open shifts, leaves, etc or this can act like an oncall position. The Area Relief DSP is a floating position and is expected to work at different residential locations throughout the assigned service area based on staffing needs, call-offs, vacancies, scheduled leave, resident needs, and operational requirements. The employee must be willing and able to report to different assigned locations as directed by management. The primary goal of the position is to maintain safe, consistent, person-centered services and adequate staffing coverage while promoting each individual's independence, dignity, health, safety, and quality of life. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with I/DD in group home settings. Provide coverage at various group-home locations throughout Dallas as assigned. Report to the assigned work location and shift on time and prepared to work. Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, meals, mobility, and other personal-care needs. Follow each individual's ISP, support plans, behavior support plans, medical instructions, and other approved care protocols. Assist individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills. Support community participation, appointments, recreational activities, employment, education, and other individualized goals. Provide medication-related assistance as authorized and trained. Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, or medical condition. Implement approved behavioral and crisis-support strategies. Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive residential environment. Complete required documentation accurately, timely, and in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Communicate effectively with managers, coworkers, families/guardians, medical professionals, case managers, and other members of the individual's support team as appropriate. Follow emergency procedures and respond appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies. Transport individuals when authorized and assigned. Complete required training and maintain all required certifications. Maintain confidentiality of resident and company information. Perform housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and other household duties as necessary to maintain the home and support residents. Assist with maintaining required staffing levels and provide coverage when assigned. Work cooperatively with staff at different locations and adapt to the needs and routines of each home. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
