Summary:

Under the direction of the Program Manager and Director, the Direct Support Professional is responsible for the safety, daily care, training, and continuous direct observation and supervision of program participants. The position requires that every individual is treated with respect, dignity, and function as a role model for program participants in all areas ranging from grooming to socialization as well as being a role model for the general public in how to interact with people who have disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Direct Support Professional is responsible for but not limited to monitoring safety, well-being, and active programming of all participants of all programs. Provide interaction with the participants in a positive supportive manner.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED Valid Driver's License (minimum 2 years valid driver license and two years of driving experience) 10-year abstract (when applicable) Ability to pass Criminal History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearance Ability to pass Preplacement Physical, PPD and Drug Test While performing the duties of this job, the Direct Care Professional is to speak, hear, drive, and is continuously required to sit, stand, or walk for up to six hours. It also requires the physical ability to lift, bend, carry, push, or pull a maximum of 35 pounds.
