Position Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides direct care, supervision, and support to individuals with mental health disabilities and behavioral health histories in community-based residential settings. This role helps individuals build skills, increase independence, and achieve goals identified in their Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and person-centered support plans. The DSP works closely with clinical and support teams to implement interventions, assist with daily living activities, encourage community participation, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for those served. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual's ISP and person-centered support plan. Assist individuals in achieving personal goals and desired outcomes. Complete required documentation accurately and within established timeframes. Administer medications in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Provide transportation to appointments, community activities, and other approved destinations. Support individuals with activities of daily living, including: Meal preparation Personal hygiene Toileting and personal care Household tasks Other individualized support needs Assist individuals with community integration and access to resources, including: Medical appointments Social services Recreational and leisure activities Community-based supports and services Promote independence, dignity, self-advocacy, and positive social interactions. Maintain a safe and supportive living environment. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Basic computer and internet proficiency, including the ability to use email, electronic documentation systems, and timekeeping platforms. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings, including FBI clearance where applicable. Preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Previous experience in mental health, behavioral health, residential services, or other human services settings.
