Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aide to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their homes and community settings. In this vital role, you will help clients maintain their independence, promote their well-being, and enhance their quality of life through personalized care. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve while developing your caregiving skills. The client is a 48 year old woman who has MS and is blind. She is looking for someone to help her with personal care and driving her to appointments. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; report any concerns promptly Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning tailored to individual dietary needs Support patients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations Provide companionship and emotional support to clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other neurodevelopmental disorders Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment Support patients during medical appointments or community outings using personal transportation assistance Follow safety protocols including first aid, CPR certification, and emergency response procedures Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is essential Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus Strong understanding of care plans, medication administration, and patient monitoring practices Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and use patient transfer equipment effectively Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in hospice care or geriatrics are advantageous Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times Join us as a Home Care Aide where your dedication transforms lives!
