This is home and community-based support. As a DSP, you'll work directly with consumers in their homes and out in the community, providing personalized support based on each person's individual needs, interests, and goals. What You'll Do- No two days are exactly the same! Depending on the consumer you support, you may: Help consumers build independence with everyday living skills and routines. Support consumers as they participate in activities, appointments, errands, and events in their community. Encourage social interaction, hobbies, relationships, and community involvement. Assist with meal planning and preparation. Provide support with personal care and other activities of daily living when needed. Assist with medication administration according to the consumer's individual plan and agency requirements. Provide safe transportation for community activities and appointments when required. Follow each consumer's individualized support plan and help them work toward their personal goals. Complete required documentation accurately and on time. Most importantly, be a dependable, encouraging presence who treats every consumer with dignity, respect, and kindness. Be able to assist with physical tasks and personal care when required by the consumer's individual needs. Have a valid driver's license and be comfortable providing transportation when required.
