Job Summary We are actively seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in Irwin, PA. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Administer medication safely and accurately following prescribed protocols Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist residents during meal times Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by performing light housekeeping and sanitation tasks Follow resident's rights policies diligently to uphold dignity, privacy, and autonomy Operate standard passenger vehicles for resident outings or appointments while adhering to safe driving practices Document daily activities, incidents, and health updates accurately in resident records Engage in ongoing training on assisted living practices, emergency procedures like first aid and CPR, and safe patient lifting techniques Experience Candidates should possess prior experience working in assisted living facilities or long-term care environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's or dementia is highly valued. Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, manual handling techniques, and behavior management enhances your ability to succeed in this role. Previous roles in nursing homes, retirement homes, group homes, or home & community care settings are advantageous. Demonstrated skills in client communication, caregiving tasks like meal preparation and cleaning, as well as understanding residents' rights are essential. Certification in CPR and first aid is required or preferred. A background in geriatrics or senior care combined with experience working with individuals with disabilities will prepare you for success as a DSP committed to making a positive impact on residents' lives.
