This position's primary responsibility will be transporting individuals and staff to and from community-based outings as scheduled.
Driver Responsibilities :
Transporting individuals from the day program to and from community based outings Completion of vehicle maintenance checks. Utilizing navigation apps to find the most optimal route. Interacting with clients in a professional manner. Maintaining an organized travel schedule. Ensuring that vehicles have sufficient gas and are always ready for use. Arranging and transporting vehicles for repairs when necessary.
Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:
Engage individuals according to our mission. Monitor the implementation of high quality individual support plans. Promote and follow Delta's Risk Management Program for the health and safety of individuals and employees. Maintain all required training per Delta policy and state regulations. Provide for the care, safety and well-being of individuals who attend the Adult, participate in Community Participation Supports in the community. Work cooperatively with other Direct Support Professionals in the implementation of various activities for groups of individuals. Participate as a team member in the individualized program ISP process for assigned individuals. Implement ISP outcomes and other specified supports for designated individuals. Complete routinely required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Actively participate in routinely scheduled meetings and training. Comply with the following safety policies and procedures: Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times; Report unsafe conditions immediately Participate in activities to protect the safety of employees and individuals of Delta; and adhere to the use of universal safety precautions and health precautions and health regulations with all individuals.
Requirements:
Ability to comprehend, read, write and speak English Ability to use excellent oral and written communications skills. Ability to use telephone, voice mail, copier, facsimile machine, computer and calculator. Ability to work effectively with people both one-on-one and in a team environment, facilitating their growth and development. Ability to resolve non-routine situations properly. Ability to be observant and intuitive. Ability to be dependable and punctual. Ability to work on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments. Ability to operate vehicles with a valid driver's license in accordance with applicable state laws, insurance provider requirements and company policies and procedures. A high school diploma or equivalent (GED). At least two (2) years' experience in the field of intellectual disabilities. Ability to exert up to fifty (50) pounds of force (lifting) on a routine basis. Valid driver's license in the state of residence.
