Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations. Support medication administration and ensure care plans are followed precisely to meet each resident's unique needs. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen area. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, community outings, or errands using safe client transportation methods. Engage residents in meaningful activities tailored to their interests and abilities, including memory care and dementia support strategies. Maintain a safe environment by performing cleaning duties, ensuring proper infection control practices, and adhering to safety protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and geriatrics enhances your ability to support residents effectively. Familiarity with care plans development and implementation ensures personalized support aligned with each individual's goals. Ability to perform patient monitoring including vital signs assessment and patient personal care assistance demonstrates your attention to detail. Competence in manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods ensures safety during mobility support. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus.
