Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals, assist with meal planning, and support residents during meal times while adhering to dietary restrictions. Support residents in maintaining their rights, dignity, and independence through respectful communication and personalized care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices are followed. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community activities, ensuring safe patient transfer methods are used at all times. Experience Candidates should have prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Experience working with individuals with autism, dementia (including Alzheimer's care), intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or developmental disabilities is highly valued. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques such as vital signs assessment, medication administration, first aid and CPR certification is essential. Previous roles involving hospice care or geriatrics will be advantageous. A strong understanding of resident's rights, care plans development, HIPAA compliance, and experience supporting patients through ADLs will help ensure success in this role.
