Job Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for providing outstanding patient care in the primary care/medical home model environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of healthcare team. The MA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care. The MA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the provider when performing clinical tasks during patient care.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Graduation from a qualified Medical Assistant program Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred Minimum 2 years' experience in healthcare setting with electronic medical records, insurance, and collecting patient data Experience with medical terminology preferred Must have courteous and cooperative attitude
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation Bilingual ability in English and Spanish, Portuguese or Creole speaking abilities preferred Cultural sensitivity necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population Ability to work independently and collaboratively Knowledge of computers and electronic medical records required Knowledge of Microsoft Suite preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written M-F; occasional Saturday; occasional holiday in EHC
