In this vital role, you will promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance the quality of life for those you serve. Your dedication will help create a positive, nurturing environment where clients feel valued, respected, and empowered to achieve their goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day through active caregiving and personalized support. Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Assist clients during meal times to promote proper nutrition. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including autism support strategies. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning common areas and personal spaces regularly. Support clients in community outings or activities that foster social engagement and independence while ensuring safety at all times. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and Hoyer lift training are preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire is required. Ability to lift heavy objects safely (occasionally in excess of 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks involved in patient handling and mobility assistance. Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including, but not limited to, mental illness, traumatic brain injury and autism. Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to handle challenging situations effectively.
